KITCHEN STAFF
Sunset Ridge Golf Club (Marcellus, NY) is seeking a hardworking, dedicated, team-orientated kitchen staff member for the 2025 season. This is a part time position. Pay is $18-21 per hour D.O.E. The selected prep/ line cook will be in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team that would include banquets and catering. Shifts available include M, T, W, Fr 5 – 9 pm and Sat/Sun/Holiday 11-3. Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Follow the menu created by chef
- Prep ingredients used in cooking such as chop, cut, peel vegetables and meat etc.
- Pre-measure or portion ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
- Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, roasting and baking food etc.
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Stock, and restock workstations
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads, lunch menu items, entrees etc.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by helping with washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Experience as prep cook/line cook preferred but willing to train.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen (Food handler certificate)
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Good physical condition and endurance- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
- Training from a culinary school will be an asset
- Food handler certificate (Preferred)
- Some experience as prep cook/line cook a plus
