Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and measuring spices. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all utensils and equipment are sanitized and stored properly. Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods. Adhere to food safety regulations and best practices in food handling to prevent contamination. Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs as required. Participate in catering events by assisting in the preparation of large quantities of food as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in a culinary role or as a cook is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and familiarity with kitchen equipment, including knives and cooking tools. Understanding of food safety standards and regulations related to food handling. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality standards. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation tasks.
