Duties Follows recipe and storyboards to prepare foods according to proper preparation methods. Ensures proper food handling and sanitation procedures are in compliance with DHEC guidelines. Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, oven, and refrigeration equipment. Maintains high sanitation standards by following the Grooming and Hygiene Guidelines. Understands and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures. Responsible for unpacking and organizing received goods in a timely manner Prepares menu items using plating recipes when ordered Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to management Utilizes tools including the prep list, hot box chart in conjunction with the manager to ensure timely delivery of products needed for service Follows all safety procedures when using equipment May be asked to assist in other job categories as well Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job Stand for entire shift and walk for long periods of time without rest or sitting down. Follow the kitchen station process to ensure the kitchen station is clean and organized. Assist all servers, bartenders and managers with carrying of plates. 2. Communicates food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies) Performs calmly and effectively under stressful conditions.
