St. Columba is nonprofit ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of West Tennessee. Food Ministry is a core element of St. Columba’s mission of hospitality to its guests and campers.. They will carry out the menu plan created by the center. St. Columba’s menus vary greatly from cafeteria style youth-friendly foods, to home-style adult-friendly menus, to fancy banquets. As a ministry of hospitality for all people, our food service department will accommodate all dietary allergies. A “typical week” of Food Service means providing meals to the center’s guests and campers, with the majority of the meals on weekends. During periods of no food service (typically from December – February, hours can be filled by assisting other departments.

//saintcolumbamemphis.org/job-application2 Essential Functions Execute menu of the Assistant Operations Director and Head Chef, maintaining the highest standard of food quality, taste, and production. Work collaboratively with the chef in menu execution and dining hall/area preparation. Sign off on all staff checklists. Check out staff at the end of shift. Ensure state health regulations are upheld. Inspect the cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and working conditions of the service areas and work stations, including all tools, equipment, and supplies. Rectify deficiencies as needed. Report any maintenance concerns to Assistant Operations Director and Head Chef. Ensure that kitchen and dining hall are ready for next shift. Inform incoming shift of any concerns, updates, or changes. Maintain a professional and positive attitude with all coworkers and guests at all times. Qualifications Works passionately and lovingly to support St. Columba’s ministry to guests and campers. Personal maturity, sound judgment, motivation, and integrity. Desire and willingness to work as a team within Food Service and other departments. Able to operate kitchen equipment and safely handle tools. Able to safely handle and use cleaning products. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Background check required. Able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, climb stairs, and walk between buildings on property. Available to work weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
