The Lifeguard will provide supervision, planning and delivery of activities to all of Glenwood’s waterfront areas that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the individuals’ and staff’s abilities.
Shift :
Monday- Friday 10 am-3 pm (May- Aug)
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Waterfront areas include Glenwood (canoe/tubing) and the pool Maintain all waterfront equipment Assist in the implementation of staff training on waterfront safety and responsibilities Evaluate aquatic abilities of individuals and staff Survey the waterfront daily and keep the areas free of hazards and debris Participate enthusiastically in all program areas serving as a positive role model and mentor through your attitude and behavior Create a fun and rewarding environment by maintaining the well-being and safety of the individuals and staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Outgoing, enthusiastic, and personable as to create an engaging atmosphere Strong communication and time management skills Must have the ability to observe individuals and staff behavior to assess appropriate behavior management techniques Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environment or hazard incidents Demonstrate sound problem-solving techniques High School Diploma or Equivalent Must be 18 years of age Certified Lifeguard (Providing Certification Training) Must meet all background screens required by the agency, including but not limited to drug screen, AFI/FBI fingerprint, Child Abuse Neglect Registry, Term Track, Criminal Background, and required driving record.
