Job Description

As a full-time Pool Lifeguard, you’ll serve as a frontline safety leader at our Aquatic Centers, ensuring the well-being of our guests while participating in high-quality aquatic programs. From teaching swim lessons to leading aqua fitness classes, your role will be both rewarding and impactful. Vigilantly monitor patrons and respond quickly to emergencies Provide first aid and emergency care, including CPR and AED usage Teach swim lessons and lead water aerobics and aqua therapy classes Help coordinate competitive and recreational aquatic events Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment Troubleshoot and assist with basic maintenance and chemical balance of pool systems Supervise and train part-time aquatic staff as needed Collect pool fees and manage transactions using recreation management software as needed Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all time and maintains a high standard of customer service Enforces City ordinances Performs related duties as required Valid Florida driver’s license Nationally recognized lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross or other acceptable agency CPR for the Professional Rescuer First Aid and Safety from the American Red Cross or other acceptable agency EMT certification preferred. 7% salary increase upon State of Florida EMT certification Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Must obtain Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent from the American Red Cross or other acceptable agency within one year of hire. American Red Cross Instructor certification preferred Must obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO)/Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO) within one year of hire Must obtain Bloodborne Pathogens and Oxygen Administration within one year of hire Must pass required swim test (annually), physical, and drug screening Knowledge of competitive aquatic programming, water safety rules, and regulations. Ability to establish rapport with the general public, fellow workers, and supervisors. Sedentary work to extreme labor-intensive work based on rescue situations. Physical abilities include running, walking, pulling, pushing, climbing, carrying, and lifting. Specific abilities include hearing, talking, and seeing. Outside work under all weather conditions.

Work Days/Hours :

Hours will vary between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., 40 hours a week, includes weekends/holidays
