Wesleyan College Summer Camps offer educational and fun summer opportunities for kids ranging in age from 4 – 12. With a mission to serve as an outreach in the fields of creative expressions, STEM, and positive reinforcement to the surrounding school systems, to provide a safe place to practice educational best practices for future classroom teachers and education students associated with Wesleyan College, and to create a safe, engaging, and academically focused summer camp experience. We encourage learning through creativity, imagination, and fun learning adventures. This year, Summer 2025, will be a thematically planned around the series of Harry Potter books by author J.K. Rowling. Each week our content and standards will be connected back to this series of books in the following ways: Potions Class, Magical Creatures Class, Transfiguration Class, and the Wizard’s Tournament. Kid’s College will run from June 2nd through June 27th, 2025 from 730a – 6p, Monday thru Friday. Wesleyan is currently hiring a part time, temporary, Lead Senior Counselor for our Kid’s College summer program. The pay rate for this role starts at $12.00 per hour. This Kid’s College Senior Counselor will be in charge of the care, safety, and positive supervision of children ages 4-12 while monitoring transitions to all instructional activities, supervising campers at lunch, establishing regular free time routines and activities, and facilitating camp theme connected instruction during house time. Duties and expectations include, but not limited to:
Monitoring the safety of campers in common spaces, Supervising and setting weekly goals with Junior Counselors, Modeling, implementing, and adhering to the camp positive management protocols,
Leading camp cheers, chants, and songs, Serving as the first point of contact for any personnel issues, Supervising at least one age group or providing content instruction for ½ of the camp day,
Assisting in check in and check out procedures,
Monitoring and assisting in lunchroom safety supervision,
Assisting in onboarding and training of all personnel, Assisting in establishing on-task behaviors during check in and check out times,
Other duties as assigned by the Camp Director
