As a Lifeguard you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for campers of various ages. Your responsibilities will include leading activities, ensuring the well-being of campers, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and teamwork. Position Summary We are hiring Lifeguards/ Swim Instructors (ages 18+) to supervise and instruct campers in our pool program. You will work as part of a dynamic team responsible for pool safety, swim lessons, and creating a positive, engaging experience for children ages 3-14. Ideal candidates are reliable, enthusiastic, and comfortable working outdoors and with children. Responsibilities Supervise all swim periods and free swim sessions to ensure camper safety. Lead small-group swim instruction using PDC’s swim curriculum. Enforce pool rules, monitor swimmer behavior, and maintain safety protocols. Assist with pool maintenance and cleanliness Respond to emergencies calmly and effectively, following all lifeguard procedures. Collaborate with other staff to maintain a safe and fun camp atmosphere. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Current Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross (or equivalent). CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required. Previous experience working with children preferred. Swim Instructor Certification (WSI) a plus, but not required. Able to commit to the full 8-week camp season (Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM-4:00 PM). Must enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions.
