Swimming Instructor – Lifeguard 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 410 Belmont St, Watertown, MA 02472 Oakley Country Club in Watertown, MA, is looking for a full-time/ part-time Swimming Instructor – Lifeguard to join our team for the summer season! Offering $18/hour plus commission for teaching swim lessons, this is an exciting opportunity to combine safety with teaching in a fun, member-focused environment. ABOUT THIS SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR – LIFEGUARD JOB
This role offers flexible shifts between 8 AM and 10 PM, with the pool operating daily from 8 AM (for adult swim and water aerobics) 10 AM (opens for rest of membership) to 8 PM (Saturday-Wednesday) then 10 PM (Thursday and Friday). You’ll work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, depending on your availability. The pool will be open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and after the season, there may be opportunities to explore different roles within the Clubhouse. We’re looking for someone who enjoys flexibility while contributing to a fantastic team atmosphere. Your day as a Swimming Instructor – Lifeguard will involve a perfect blend of safety and fun. You’ll start by ensuring the pool area is secure, keeping a close eye on all activities, and enforcing safety guidelines to protect our members. Whether it’s a lively family swim session or a one-on-one lesson, you’ll be right there, teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Your role will involve engaging with members, helping them improve their technique, and making sure everyone feels safe and confident in the water. You’ll also be ready to jump into action at a moment’s notice, ensuring all emergencies are handled quickly and professionally. Would you excel in this position? Here’s what you need: Lifeguard certification Strong communication skills A high school diploma or equivalent is ideal. At least one year of lifeguard experience is also preferred.
