Location of Position Connecticut River waterfront, Hanover, NH Advertisement Text Position Purpose The Outdoor Programs Office is committed to offering transformational outdoor opportunities to students at Dartmouth. We engage them and the local community at a number of educational facilities, including the Ledyard Canoe Club, the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge, the Second College Grant, and cabins available for rent throughout the state. In addition. OPO advises the Dartmouth Outing Club, the largest and oldest college outing club in the country. In partnership with our student leaders, we offer trips, outdoor education seminars, workshops, and courses. The Outdoor Programs Office is a part of the Community and Campus Life Division at Dartmouth. The Waterfront Lifeguard guards and enforces regulations of the Connecticut River swim area. The waterfront swimming area opens at the start of the summer quarter and closes in early fall. Using a cell phone while actively guarding, other than for safety reasons, is prohibited. Required Qualifications
- Open Water Lifeguard Certificate
- CPR and First Aid certificates
- Knowledge of open water lifeguarding
- Previous lifeguarding experience
