Job Description Fiver is looking for lifeguards for Fiver’s aquatics programing. Lifeguards will perform general guarding duties at the pool and at the lake during free swim lessons and at all times when the aquatic areas are in use. Lifeguards will attend all required training sessions under the supervision of the Swim or Waterfront Specialist. Lifeguards will be professional, dedicated, and attentive to the safety of campers and staff at all times. During their experience at Camp Fiver, lifeguards will gain many transferable skills such as leadership, effective communication, time management, strategic thinking, behavior management and youth development best practices. Qualifications At least 16 years old by June 2025 Current CPR, first aid and lifeguard certification (waterfront required) Past Lifeguard experience preferred Experience working with children; camp experience preferred Located in beautiful upstate New York, Camp Fiver is a four-hour trip from New York City and is 45 minutes southeast of Syracuse. Truly a “home away from home,” Camp Fiver’s 129-acre refuge includes a lake, a river, woodlands, a learning center, dining hall, horse barn and more. Counselors live at Camp Fiver for all 4 12-day sessions including one week of training prior to camp.
