Job Description

TPC Southwind is a private par-70, 7,244-yard layout located in the gated community of Southwind in Southeast Memphis, Tennessee. TPC Southwind is home of the FedEx St. Jude Championship. TPC Southwind houses a modern-style, 34,000 square-foot clubhouse featuring rich wood furnishings and creates an inviting backdrop for socializing, private events, or corporate entertainment. Tee up your career as a part of our team with the TPC Network! The Lifeguard monitors activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent education. Must be able to pass swim certification and any other required certifications for swim instructions as applicable. First Aid Certified and safety training certification required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Ensure that all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner and assure proper sign in procedures are followed. Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas. Maintain and ensure that swim center policies and rules are followed throughout the facility. Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid. Maintains order in swimming areas. Inspects all pool facilities for cleanliness, assists with preventative maintenance as required. Conducts or officiates swimming meets. Open and close the swim business operations and facilities using established standard operating procedures. Observe swimming performance of members/guests to determine need for individual or team improvement. Communicate emergency and safety information to members and guests in a calm, clear, and professional manner by telephone or two-way radio in a calm, clear, and professional manner. Maintain responsibility for the cleanliness and appearance of the pool area, entryways, and all storage and service areas. Maintain all emergency equipment and procedures as established. Special projects or other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
