Responsibilities of the laundry aide:
Sort laundry, linen, garments, etc. Perform tasks such as folding and delivering residents’ laundry on a daily basis. Load and empty washers and dryers. Assist nursing staff with cleaning out residents’ closets. Other duties assigned as necessary.
Requirements of the laundry aide:
Practical knowledge of day-to-day cleaning in a long-term care facility. Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions. Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures. Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change. Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with staff and vendors.
