SUMMARY:

The Room Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness, arrangement, and supply of guest rooms and baths.

Room Attendant responsibilities include:

servicing guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures, stocking cart with room supplies, and replacing bed linens and replenishing guest room supplies. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times. Always respond to guests and colleagues in a friendly, helpful manner. Daily clean and return vacant dirty rooms to a vacant ready status and occupied dirty rooms to an occupied clean status. Daily cleaning includes light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, window coverings, floors, carpets, and closets. Also includes a thorough cleaning of the bathroom and vanity areas. Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, toiletry related items in the bathroom, all terry supplies, linens, writing supplies, and ensure that bed sheets are changed every day. Assist in general clean program by changing all blankets, bedspreads, and mattress pads every 90 days or as needed. Perform rotation cleaning duties, including steam clean carpets, polish metal, and other super cleaning tasks as required. Complete assigned daily room projects (thresholds, edging, etc.). Assist in the carpet care program by daily spot cleaning guest room carpets as the room is being cleaned. Maintain a clean and orderly housekeeping cart. Report any material discrepancies beyond the scope of the Housekeeping Department to the Housekeeping Manager for referral to the Maintenance Technician. Assist in maintaining other areas of the hotel in a clean and orderly condition, (i.e. employee lounge and locker room, public areas, stairwells, and back of the house area). Respond to guest requests and inquiries immediately. Provide turndown services as requested. Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests, such as irons, roll-away beds, cots, etc. Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Company Dress Code. Through training, continue to practice skills taught. Must be thoroughly familiar with Employee Handbook and all policies and rules it contains. Must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Employee Handbook, Safety Manual, and operating guides. Other duties as assigned, of which employee is capable of performing.

SAFETY & SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES

To maximum security for yourself and our guests, please ensure that you do not open any guest room door for a guest, as they would need to go to the front desk, display appropriate identification upon getting another key issued. We are also required to ensure that all occupied guest room doors are never left unsecure when not-attended by an associate of the hotel. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures. Maintain guest privacy by ensuring Key Control Policy is utilized and ensure no room numbers and/or guest names are given out without proper identification. Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardous conditions observed immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Computer Knowledge/Skills:

MS Windows, basic. Professional in appearance and attitude. Physical mobility and stamina required. Ability to follow instructions, detail-oriented, and service mined. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Be able to lift, carry, push or pull weight up to 30 lbs.
