$29.7K – $34.7K a year 2 days ago Qualifications CPR Certification English High school diploma or GED 1 year Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description The Housekeeper is responsible for the major floor cleaning and refinishing functions in accordance with the standard procedures of the Housekeeping Department. In accordance with the Hospital’s objectives, the housekeeper will use cleaning devices including commercial vacuum cleaners, mop and wringer, and other necessary equipment, tools, products and supplies. Use commercial washers and dryers. Floor stripping and waxing.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED Experience:

One (1) year of experience in Housekeeping in a health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform general cleaning of patient areas, offices, restrooms, nurse’s stations, and common areas.
  • Performs all laundry responsibilities, such as washing, drying, folding, handling of soiled linens, and distribution of clean linens.
  • Follows written safety guidelines to ensure job responsibilities are carried out in a safe and effective manner.
  • Reports any need for repair to equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures.
  • Maintains assigned work area and equipment for cleanliness.
  • Assist in cleaning emergency spills.
  • Solve practical problems and able to read and write common English.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with others.
  • Shows ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Adapt to changing situations or work assignments.
  • Demonstrates willingness to rotate to other areas of hospital within the limits of skill level.
  • Conform to uniform and dress code, personal hygiene and good grooming.
  • Wear and properly display name badge.
  • Positively respond to guidance or counseling and attempts to benefit by it.
  • Adept in identifying potential problems within the department and seeks management guidance.
  • Use proper verbal and non-verbal communication with others, i.

Job Requirements:
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • CPR certification
  • 1 year experience in housekeeping
  • Must be able to pass a Level II AHCA background screening.
