Housekeeper/Janitor Halifax Urban Ministries, Inc. 962 Derbyshire Road, Daytona Beach, FL 32117 Major Responsibilities/Activities 1.

Bathrooms:

clean all surfaces with a disinfectant cleaner. Sweep and mop floors, empty garbage cans, clean and disinfect garbage cans. Replenish all paper supplies. 2.

Dining Area:

sweep and mop floors daily, clean baseboards once a week, empty and clean garbage cans daily, clean and disinfect water supply areas daily, clean all surfaces with disinfectant cleaner. 3.

Serving area and front entrance:

sweep and mop floors daily, clean baseboards once weekly. Empty trash and clean trash can. Clean front door windows inside and out daily. Clean all counter surfaces and all light switch plates. 4.

Kitchen:

sweep and mop kitchen. Get under sink, tables, dishwasher, coolers and stoves. Empty trash and clean cans. Clean all stainless steel. Clean ice maker and deep freezer. 5. Stock rooms, and cleaning closet: sweep and organize once weekly. When cleaned, rotate and restock all shelves and clean all surfaces ensuring can goods are within usable date. 6. Clean and prepare client units for new move in’s. Includes sanitizing beds, new linens, pillows, and comforter. Sweep and mop floors, moving all furniture to ensure through cleaning. Clean and sanitize bathrooms. Hang new shower curtains and replace bathroom rugs. Pull filters and clean air conditioners in client units. 7. Clean and sanitize laundry room, complete house laundry. 8. Sweep, mop, and dust common area. May help set up/break down for events. 9. Occasionally drive to pickup supplies and run errands. Minimum Requirements Florida Driver’s license with clean driving record. Housekeeping/janitorial experience using basic housekeeping and janitorial supplies. Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. • Successful candidate may be asked to submit to post offer, pre-employment drug screen and pass a level II background check.
• Possess a Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Employee must maintain a high moral standard.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is normally performed in a typical interior/exterior work environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Regularly lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to fill, lift and freely move commercial mop bucket, wring mop, and empty bucket. Must be able to remove large rubber mats from floor, hang, clean, and replace.

$15.00 – $18.00 per hour
