Immediate or As Agreed Position Overview A prestigious private household in Boston is seeking a seasoned and proactive Senior Housekeeper. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, presentation, and overall household operations. Team Structure & Reporting
Reports to the Executive Housekeeper The Senior Housekeeper will be hands-on in daily housekeeping duties while working with a team on property. Primary Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Maintenance
Execute daily cleaning routines across all areas of the home, including formal spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and service areas Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of specialty surfaces, fine furnishings, artwork, and antiques using appropriate methods and products Carry out deep-cleaning projects on a rotational schedule, ensuring seasonal preparedness and long-term preservation of the property Team Collaboration
Work in coordination with housekeeping team to ensure consistency and efficiency Provide backup coverage and support to other team members during absences or high-demand periods Maintain clear communication with the Senior Housekeeper and promptly escalate issues or maintenance concerns Laundry & Garment Care
Perform high-end laundry services, including washing, pressing, steaming, and organizing luxury garments and household linens Execute proper wardrobe management protocols for adults and children, including seasonal rotation and packing/unpacking for travel Care for delicate fabrics, couture pieces, shoes, and accessories with attention to preservation and presentation Household Operations
Monitor and restock household supplies and inventory, coordinating with the Senior Housekeeper for purchasing and budgeting needs Assist with receiving deliveries, vendor access, and service appointments, ensuring household security and professionalism Contribute to upkeep of household manuals, checklists, and task logs as directed Guest and Event Preparation
Prepare guest suites and public areas to a five-star standard prior to visits or events Support hosting and entertaining by coordinating setup, cleanup, and service-related duties in collaboration with culinary and service teams Ensure all areas are guest-ready at all times through consistent inspection and detail review Ideal Candidate Profile
5-8+ years of experience in an senior-level housekeeping position within a private household or luxury hospitality setting Experience working as part of a high-functioning domestic team in a large or multi-staffed residence Meticulous attention to detail and deep familiarity with UHNW household standards, protocols, and discretion Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask Calm under pressure, solutions-oriented, and highly respectful of privacy and confidentiality Requirements
Legal authorization to work in the United States Fluent English; additional language skills a plus Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred Ability to lift, bend, and perform physically active housekeeping duties for extended periods Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Work Environment This is a live-out, full-time position based in Boston. The household operates with precision, professionalism, and discretion.
