This position is located at L’Acadie in
Van Buren, Maine Status Hours:
20 hrs/wk
Job Summary:
Must be willing to work alone in laundry room and work independently with minimal assist performing housekeeping services.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Must use all equipment per manufacturer specifications and recommendations. 2. Delivers and collects personal and floor laundry. 3. Daily laundry delivered to designated nursing units. 4. Must prepare all laundry and housekeeping services as outlined by state, federal, and Joint Commission standards. 5. Performs designated cleaning on daily schedule. 6. When requested, is willing to adjust personal schedule to complete workload or cover for emergencies. 7. Must complete mandatory in-services on an annual basis. 8. Must maintain extremely high standards of sanitation, housekeeping, and infection control. 9. Answers telephone promptly; handles information with courtesy, accuracy and respect for patient confidentiality; receives information and distributes messages as necessary. 10. Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed, although not directly assigned. 11. Performs work in a manner conducive to good guest/employee relations. 12. Displays courteous, respectful and compassionate behavior towards patients and other customers utilizing effective communication skills. 13. Seeks opportunities to become involved in the effort for service excellence. 14. Complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Requirements:
Licenses and Education:
1. High school or GED preferred. 2. Ability to relate professionally with other hospital staff. 3. Ability to organize and prioritize work to the advantage of the patients and customers.
Availability Requirements:
1. Days, evening shift, weekend rotations, on-call availability and holidays.
