Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE
To perform housekeeping duties in the assigned area of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Dusts and cleans courtrooms, offices, holding cells, hallways, and bathrooms2. Sweeps, mops, waxes floors, and wipes walls3. Stores janitorial supplies and requests replenishing of supplies as needed4. Replaces or schedules replacement of light bulbs throughout the building5. Washes glass doors and polishes furniture6. Contacts appropriate county department personnel for the moving of furniture, shampooing ofcarpets, painting, and required outdoor maintenance7. Notifies appropriate personnel to conduct needed minor repairs, reports problems to supervisor forcorrections9. Empties wastebaskets and replaces plastic liners in each10. Professional conduct at all times

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of chemicals used in the performance of the essential job functions
- Ability to complete work orders on projects completed
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of county employees and citizens
- Knowledge and application of all job safety procedures
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Mississippi Driver’s License beforeemployment and maintain licensure for duration of employment in this position. Employee must be able todrive Harrison County vehicle to job site if assigned. Employee is required to complete training on HarrisonCounty Community Service Work Program.
These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of high schooland one (I) year of experience in an unskilled and semi-skilled trade. Equivalent combinations of education andexperience will he considered
SALARY:
