Provides cleaning support to non-patient areas without direct supervision
Cleans andmaintainsstorage areas ensuring they are free from waste and debris Provides services with consideration of the physical, psychosocial, cultural/spiritual, and age-specific needs of those served
Cleans patient rooms adequately andin a timely manneraccording to department guidelines
Cleans exam rooms adequately andin a timely manneraccording to department guidelines Uses equipment and supplies correctly
Demonstrates proper use of equipment by providing quality floor care in their assigned areas
Cleans andmaintaindepartment equipment used in the daily completion of job duties Usesappropriate safetyand infection control measures
While cleaning, the Environmental Aide checks the rooms for inoperative furnishings or fixtures, and reports problems to the department director
Collects trash and soiled linen from assigned areas, transporting to collection or disposal site Teaches, directs,advisesand informs others inan appropriate manner
The Environmental Aideassiststheir supervisor with training of new employees Reports and records information correctly
After cleaning patient rooms, the Environmental Aide signs off that the rooms have been cleaned and leaves a tent card in each of the rooms
Answers and responds to pages ina timelyand courteous manner
Responsibilities

Effective communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Constantexposure to chemicals; infectious situations; exposed to blood, body fluids, and their associated odors; frequent stressful situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium work
Lifting 50 pounds maximum
Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting up to 25 pounds
Good vision and depth perception
AGE GROUPS SERVED
Allages from birth to senior adult. Qualifications Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Experience preferred from a professional setting.
