1099 Independent Contractor Paige’s Cleaning Services is hiring experienced, detail-oriented cleaners for a long-term, serious role. This is NOT a side hustle or “try it out” gig. If you’re not ready to show up, follow exact instructions, and work hard every day — please do not apply.

Important Note:

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not a W-2 job at this time. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, scheduling, and tools. This is for self-motivated cleaners who value structure, consistency, and professionalism. We plan to transition to W-2 employment in the future as the business and client base grow. Details and timing of that transition will be communicated to contractors when the time comes. Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable): You must meet ALL of the following to be considered: 1+ year of relevant experience (house cleaning, janitorial, or other physically demanding, detail-focused roles) 1-2 professional references Reliable transportation (able to travel up to 45 minutes from home) Available Tuesday-Friday (8AM-3PM) No pet allergies — most homes have cats/dogs Physically able to clean for 4-6 hours per job (strict time frames; this is physically demanding work) Clean, professional attire (t-shirt, leggings, or shorts) Must operate as a 1099 contractor and manage own taxes Must carry or obtain general liability insurance Must use Venmo for weekly payment Must use Google Calendar for scheduling 2 paid trial days required to evaluate quality and fit before active job assignments ($50/day) Must complete onboarding paperwork in person (W-9, Independent Contractor Agreement, Cleaning Checklist, etc.) Startup Kit Provided (Loaned – Must Be Returned if Contract Ends) We provide a Startup Kit with tools and supplies to help you start strong. This kit remains property of Paige’s Cleaning Services and must be returned in clean, usable condition if your contract ends. If not returned, a replacement fee may apply. Contractors are responsible for replenishing cleaning products and replacing any rags, mop heads, duster wands, duster heads, dish scrubbies as needed going forward.

What We Expect From You:

Follow detailed checklists and maintain consistency Double-check your work before leaving every home Show up on time, ready to work, with high energy and no distractions Be respectful and nonjudgmental in all client homes No personal items (purses, backpacks, etc.) inside clients’ homes — only keys, phone, and water bottle inside your caddy Disclose physical limitations/allergies up front Commit to a long-term partnership, not short-term work No excessive breaks, texting, or calls while cleaning Open to feedback — quality reviews and corrections are part of the job Must clean various homes — no preferences or home type restrictions allowed Maintain a professional attitude and follow systems without shortcuts All clients are recurring cleans, which means we must follow a consistent schedule. Contractors are expected to maintain availability on assigned days to ensure we can keep up with each client’s recurring needs.

Trial days are closely observed to ensure quality, focus, and professionalism. You will be assigned a variety of homes. Preferences cannot be accommodated. If you’re only available inconsistently or need constant flexibility, this is not the right opportunity. Contractor relationships may be ended at any time if expectations or conduct are not met. Speed is not rewarded here. We pay per completed job, not per hour. Jobs typically take 4-6 hours to complete based on our detailed checklist and quality expectations. This estimate comes from years of experience — even the owner still spends 4-6 hours per clean. Thorough, detailed work simply takes time. Contractors who finish significantly early may be asked to revisit areas to ensure the home meets expectations. This is a performance-based role focused on quality and consistency — not speed. Rushing through a job will not result in extra pay or additional assignments. If you want a casual, low-effort job, this isn’t it. We’re building something meaningful and expect the same level of commitment from our team.
