Housekeeper Position Purpose:

To make guests feel comfortable and welcome through providing consistently clean, tidy accommodations and friendly interactions. Also, as part of the staff, applicant must be able to flex into other guest support roles if needed, such as hosting a meal or washing dishes.

Responsibilities to include:

Housekeeping:

Guest spaces support Using products sanctioned by Stony Point Center, turn over rooms for next guests and provide stay-over service for rooms and bathrooms assigned daily. Perform general cleaning, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, wiping windows, and cleaning bathrooms. Take out trash, arrange furniture as needed, make beds, and replace any towels or bedding with clean linens. Take care to label found items left behind by guests and deliver to front desk. Respond promptly to customer inquiries, and notify supervisor of any problems that arise. Maintain a high level of cleanliness in furnishings, of sleeping units, public spaces, and offices. Keep hospitality amenities stocked in each space, as needed. Properly store any cleaning materials, and adhere to all health and safety standards. Maintain an inventory of all needed supplies. Notify supervisor in a timely manner when orders are needed. Identify and communicate needed repairs to the Retreat Center Manager. Use care when entering and exiting guest rooms: Announcing before entering, and when leaving, keeping the door lock as it was when entering. Perform basic room set-up and clean-up in a timely manner.

General:

Part of the Stony Point Center Team Interact with guests in a manner that presents Stony Point Center in a positive & hospitable way. Greet and host groups, as assigned. Assist team members when needed and ask for help when appropriate. Work quickly without compromising quality. Perform tasks in a safe manner to provide a high standard of cleanliness for Stony Point Center guests and staff. Adhere strictly to government rules and Stony Point Center practices regarding health and safety. Notify supervisor 2 weeks in advance of time off needed. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience:

Candidate will have satisfactory guest/client experience. Work in accommodations from the guest services position a plus.

Qualities:

Must be well spoken in English, sensitive to guest and staff needs. Outgoing, friendly, organized, great attention to detail, ability to be flexible, desire to learn and try new tasks, ability to work well with others, ability to embrace diversity.

Skills:

Ability to follow written and verbal direction. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. repeatedly. The ability to bend, squat, lift, and twist with minimal discomfort.

Work Schedule:

15-20 hours a week as needed. Must work weekends. 7am start time. Schedule set weekly and is dependent on guest flow.
