None Summary/Objective The House person will ensure the operational abilities of the Housekeeping Department by preparing for, maintaining, and recovering from various activities and functions throughout the hotel. Assists Housekeeping Room Attendants, dispose of trash, transport laundry, and clean the common areas of the hotel.

Essential Function:

Resolves guest complaints to the satisfaction of the guest; responds promptly to any guest request for service Arrives at work in a timely fashion in accordance with the posted schedule. Abides by established uniform guidelines. Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values and philosophy of Meyer Jabara Hotels. Displays dignity and respect of others at all times. Maintains a “can do” and a “guest first” attitude at all times. Works as a member of the overall hotel team to ensure that each guest has an experience that exceeds their expectations. Attends scheduled training sessions within the hotel as dictated by The Center Hotel and Meyer Jabara Hotels. Assists with other departments within the hotel when necessary to ensure guest needs. Cleans hotel public spaces according to hotel standards. Keeps outside area free of debris Communicate with staff or guests. Close interaction with staff and guests is essential in this position to ensure guest satisfaction. Removes trash from all receptacles and takes it out to the dumpster Reading and writing abilities are used often in reviewing and comprehending written instructions from superiors regarding assignments Tasks or Competencies Time Management Cleanliness Work Environment This job operates throughout the entire hotel where typically you are working independently, but will come in close proximity to your co-workers as well. The noise levels will be moderate. Hazards include, but are not limited to chemical reactions, slipping, tripping, and strains. Ability to hear in one or both ears so that verbal communication can be received, understood and acted upon in either a face to face or a telecommunications basis. Ability to flex legs at the knee so that individual can lower the body coming to rest on one or both knees. Ability to grasp, hold, set down, redirect with hands or fingers, turn, control and manipulate objects and commodities. Ability to stretch body and extend arms to place or secure objects and commodities at a distance above, to the side of, or below the normal standing level of the individual. Ability to flex legs at the knees to lower body position. Ability to use body parts, usually arms and hands (occasionally shoulders and back) to elevate an object or commodity above its previous surface level. Ability to ascend steps, ladders and other vertical and semi-vertical surfaces to reach a higher level.
