POSITIONSUMMARY
Housekeeper cleans and sanitizes common areas, homes,apartments, suites, and healthcare units on the campus. Housekeeperwill follow a regular work schedule to accomplish duties under thesupervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
1. Represents the campus in a positive mannerwhile creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy forresidents and employees alike. Works within the campus programs toencourage and promote safety and the well-being of all residentsand employees. 2. Upholds the campus’s Mission Statement. 3.Maintains HIPAA standards and regards all medical or healthcareinformation pertaining to residents and employees as confidential.4. Removes trash located in the collection areas of the campus. 5.Cleans inhabited and vacant units to “like new” condition(including but not limited to the cleaning of cabinets, surfaces,floors, glass and windows, walls, fixtures, window sills, etc.) 6.Cleans building areas to “like new” condition (including but notlimited to the cleaning of cabinets, surfaces, floors, glass andwindows, walls, fixtures, window sills, etc.) 7. Uses cleaningchemicals and supplies properly.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Travels occasionally for training sessions, continuing educationopportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.2. Responsible for knowledge of fire and safety proceduresincluding those involving blood-borne pathogens. 3. Remains inproper uniform at all times and maintains a high standard ofappearance. 4. Completes all work/cleaning orders in a timelymanner. 5. Exercises waste control. 6. Interacts well withmarketing tours and prospective residents. 7. Maintains excellentresident and employee relations. Handles complaints andrecommendations constructively. 8. Attends employee in-services asrequired. 9. Accepts other duties as required by the HousekeepingSupervisor.
PREREQUISITES
A. Education
- Technical certificationfrom a janitorial program desired. B. Direct Previous Experience
- Janitorial or maintenance experience required.
- Two yearsexperience in a similar housekeeping position desired.
C.
Skills:
- Ability to work with minimal and close supervision.
- Must conductall business with a professional manner and with a high level ofconfidentiality.
- Ability to use hand tools, carts and dollies.
D.
Abilities:
- Work outdoors and indoors during the work day(fluorescent lights, HVAC system, carpeted flooring, normal officenoise levels).
- Climb up to two flights of stairs.
- Lift objectsof 25 pounds or less over the head.
- Move objects of 40 pounds ormore.
- Ability to work under time-sensitive or stressfulsituations.
- Respond to medical emergencies on a rare occasion.
- Assist with resident evacuations, if ever required.
