About Coastal Regional Center
Coastal Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Under general supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor the employee provides custodial services to assigned building/dorm units. Works independently and keeps supervisor abreast of any issues as it relates to custodial services. May serve as front line supervisor of a small group of custodial workers. Must be able to read and write legibly and able to follow oral and written instructions.
Performs housekeeping duties as required to provide a safe, sanitary, clean, and pleasant environment for the consumers and staff to live and work through a structured cleaning program, maintain units in acceptable condition as outlined by SC Public Health standards.
Maintains floors in unit by dust mopping, wet mopping, and buffing. Walls, doors, furniture, and beds are to be cleaned as scheduled. Picture frames, furniture, mirrors, and ledges should be dusted daily. Clean restrooms and showers.
Search, remove, and dispose of debris from outside of unit. Empty cigarette disposals. Keep supply and janitorial closet organized and clean. Issue supplies daily.
Organize duties to avoid conflict with unit programs. Follow-up in allowed time on inspections of units given by supervision. Coordinate cleaning of entire unit in the event of staff shortage.

Experience in custodial, housekeeping or pest control work that is directly related to the area of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of how to properly carry out custodial, housekeeping or pest control tasks. Knowledge of custodial, housekeeping or pest control standards and requirements. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of personnel practices in state government. Skill in the use of cleaning tools and equipment. Ability to keep accurate written records. Ability to plan, direct and review the work of subordinates. Ability to train new employees in the proper performance of their duties.
