Full Job Description Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Completes daily scheduled cleaning duties in accordance to hospital policies and procedures Maintains and cleans all restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying trash cans, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, sweeping and mops floors, and cleaning toilets Sweeps and mops all floors, while maintaining sterility when necessary Dusts and clean exam rooms, countertops, kitchen and equipment Maintains cleanliness of all windows and doors Sweeps or leaf blows all sidewalks and entrances Routinely checks parking lot, exterior grounds and dumpster areas for trash, etc. Maintains dog waste stations, including empties waste bin and replacing the liner and restocking hand bags when necessary Reports any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to supervisor as soon as possible Follows established fire and safety protocols Follows established hand washing procedures Takes out trash and replaces liners at the end of each shift and as needed throughout the day Recycles cardboard as needed Maintains laundry, including transporting dirty laundry to laundry room, washing and drying laundry, folding and restocking laundry throughout the hospital as needed Sets up, stocks and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies. Communicates to Inventory Manager when supplies are needed in a timely manner. Assist hospital staff when needed

Education/Experience:

High school diploma required Previous Janitorial or Housekeeping experience Applicants with experience in a veterinary or animal setting is preferred

Qualifications:

Must be organized, self-driven and detail-oriented Commitment to integrity, accountability and strong ethical standards Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance Strong attention to detail and takes pride in a job well done Comfort and ability to work around various animals (dogs and cats). This includes exposure to possible allergens like animal dander, fur and zoonotic diseases. Basic maintenance skills

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced emergency/specialty hospital environment Extended times of standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds Occasionally exposed to airborne particles and illness from patients and chemicals related to animal care and office equipment Environment where dogs and cats are present Moderate noise level w/ barking dogs, patients recovering from anesthesia and vocalizing patients
