Floor Tech/Housekeeping Seneca Health and Rehabilitation Center 140 Tokeena Road, Seneca, SC 29678
General Description:
To provide and maintain the floor care of the facility including resident rooms. Perform stripping, waxing, buffing and overall floor care under the supervision of the Housekeeping or designated supervisor. Maintaining the environment of the facility to create a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have related experience and the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with others.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
- Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
- Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Related experience at a level to accomplish the job.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A.
EXTERIOR AND FLOOR CARE FUNCTION
Duties:
Strip, wax and buff floors as directed; move and replace furniture; clean storage and exterior areas as directed.
B. CLEAN RESIDENT ROOMS AND COMMON AREAS
Duties:
Clean straighten mop and polishing, rooms, offices and common areas, as directed. Ensure residents’ rooms are safe, comfortable and maintained in an attractive manner and residents’ personal items are safeguarded. Clean up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed.
C. ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY FUNCTIONS
Duties:
Ensure cleaning, stripping, waxing schedules are followed and coordinate with housekeeping services and other departments to minimize disruption of daily living for the residents. Ensure that equipment and supply carts and adequate supplies are properly maintained; ensure that lighting is in proper working order; and assist others in heavy lifting as requested.
D. EQUIPMENT CARE AND SAFETY
Ensure equipment and work areas are safe; that procedures regarding cleaners or hazardous materials or objects are strictly adhered to; that equipment and supplies are properly stored; ensure Universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices and procedures are followed; and promptly report any hazardous conditions and equipment.
E. INSERVICE FUNCTIONS
Duties Attend orientation and in-services as required by the State. Attend facility in-services.
F. RESIDENTS’ RIGHTS AND POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS FUNCTIONS
Duties:
Understand, comply with and promote all rules regarding residents’ rights; promote positive relationships with residents, visitors and regulators, to include a professional appearance and attitude.
G. SAFETY FUNCTIONS
Duties:
Will support and follow all safety and infection control practices. Will adhere to facility uniform policy including use of personal protective equipment.
H. ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE
Duties:
Exhibits expected ethical and legal standards. Reinforces through examples and where applicable, conducts training on the expectation that all employees conform to these ethical and legal standards, including matters related to resident abuse or neglect. When in doubt about whether a particular activity is proper, refrains from the activity and obtains guidance from the Director of Nursing or the Administrator. Responds promptly and thoroughly when problems are reported. Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring corrective action, when problems including ethics, compliance resident abuse, neglect are identified. Maintains compliance in promoting patient privacy, HIPPA regulations and confidentiality in the delivery of care. Safeguards patients’ medical, financial, and personal information.
