PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Paws Associate is responsible for visually inspecting, grading, and packing chicken paws to ensure quality standards are met. This role involves working on a production line, weighing products for proper packing, and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations, including NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Examine chicken paws on a conveyor belt to identify quality issues such as mangling, discoloration, or excess skin and nails.
Sort and discard paws that do not meet quality standards, placing unsalvageable ones into a designated condemn barrel.
Accurately weigh and pack raw chicken paws into boxes, ensuring the correct amounts for shipping.
Perform additional tasks or assume alternate roles within or outside the department as required.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety policies and protocols.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Previous experience in the poultry industry or a similar production environment is a plus.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Adhere strictly to company and departmental safety policies.
Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures (approximately 45°F to 80°F) and humidity levels.
Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift and perform repetitive tasks.
Exposure to noise levels exceeding 85 decibels, CO2, and moving production equipment.
Lifting of up to 45 lbs.
