JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a passionate and creative private chef with experience in organic, farm-to-table cuisine—particularly in cooking with gourmet mushrooms and more plant based. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, retreat-style setting and enjoys working with fresh, seasonal ingredients straight from the farm.

Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for wellness retreats and guests using farm-grown organic produce.
Design menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and gourmet mushrooms.
Accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions (gluten-free, vegan, paleo, etc.).
Collaborate with retreat organizers to coordinate meal schedules.
Work two days per week producing value-added goods (e.g., beef jerky, kale chips, pickles) for local farmer’s markets.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the kitchen.
Prepare meals for small, intimate retreats typically hosting 15-20 guests.
Engage with guests during meals to provide a memorable culinary experience.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a private chef, retreat chef, or in a similar culinary role.
Strong knowledge of organic and sustainable cooking practices.
Experience with gourmet mushrooms is required.
Ability to manage kitchen operations independently and efficiently.
Comfortable working in a rural, outdoor farm environment.
Friendly, flexible, and guest-focused demeanor.

COMPENSATION

this position is: salaried, $50,000 – $75,000
