The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As an Oyster Person, you will be responsible for expertly shucking and grilling oysters and ensuring they are prepared to the highest standards for our guests. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional dining experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities Skillfully shuck and char-grill oysters, ensuring quality and presentation are maintained. Assist in the preparation of other seafood dishes as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the oyster station and kitchen area. Follow food safety and handling guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new seafood offerings. Help train new staff members on oyster shucking techniques and kitchen protocols. Experience Previous experience in a culinary role, particularly in food preparation or kitchen environments, is preferred. Familiarity with dietary department practices and menu planning is a plus. Strong knife skills and knowledge of proper food handling techniques are essential. A background in restaurant operations or culinary arts will be beneficial. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
