Title Associate, Processing Reports to Lead, Processing Category Full-time, hourly, non-exempt, union (UFCW) Salary Starting at $17.50 per hour plus benefits Schedule Monday through Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm KPIs Processing and Production Department task metrics, to be further defined re: product processing rates and quality control. Work location BeWell Production facility at 92 Bolt Street, Lowell, MA (RMD1245) Essential duties and responsibilities The Processing Associate performs daily activities of the Processing department within the Production vertical of the business, including all activities related to the packaging and handling of cannabis products from post-harvest to finished goods stages of Production. Reporting to the Processing Lead, PA works with other Production department members to produce profitable, compliant, sale-ready inventory. PA Processing tasks including but not limited to: buck, grade, sort, trim, cure/dry, ,quality control, pack, label grind, fill, handle, move, store, organize and otherwise process cannabis products. BeWell cultivates and manufactures cannabis products for sale to licensed cannabis businesses statewide. PA operates tools, equipment, hardware, software and other systems related to commercial cannabis production. PA supports Processing leadership to audit and track inventory, supplies and materials, in compliance with state and other requirements. PA completes all training related to Processing activities and Production facility conduct, in order to safely and effectively perform job tasks. The PA is a licensed Agent of BeWell’s state-issued cannabis license, in compliance with Cannabis Control Commission and all related federal, state and local regulations. The PA follows the company’s reporting structures and policies to ensure standardized recordkeeping, and maintain regular, transparent communication within the Processing and Packaging departments. According to schedules and plans developed by the Production Director and Processing Manager, and supervised by the Processing lead, PA uses tools and equipment provided by the company and performs tasks related to:

  • Cleaning, sanitization and decontamination of Production areas, materials, equipment and inputs
  • Harvesting, drying and curing product for further processing
  • Producing packaged cannabis products including but not limited packaged flower, packaged concentrates, prerolled joints and preground flower
  • Producing compliant packages and labels for cannabis product distribution and inventory management
  • Recordkeeping
  • Physically and virtually move cannabis products, as required, using all related material handling equipment, hardware and software (including but not limited to Dutchie, METRC, MS Office Suite), in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Follow company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to perform Processing tasks in an efficient, compliant manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all Processing areas, including but not limited to Trim and Packaging rooms, hallways, bathrooms and dry storage areas.
  • Operate and maintain all tools and equipment related to Processing.
  • Other related duties as assigned. Physical requirements
  • Proficient cannabis processing skills and techniques including use of tools and equipment for all stages of post-harvest processing of cannabis, including but not limited to buck, grade, sort, trim, cure/dry, grind, fill, package, store, sample for analysis
  • Extended time standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending over, reaching, crouching, grasping, cutting, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation
  • Extended time using a computer while seated at a desk
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for 100 feet with or without assistance
  • Ability to operate in conditions of moderate noise, with variable humidity and heat ranges Skills and qualifications
  • Experience performing cannabis processing activities, especially packaging and production plan fulfillment in Massachusetts markets
  • Tool/equipment, hardware, software and application skills including use and maintenance of processing systems
  • Ability to triage issues for resolution, especially those related to processing tasks
  • Problem-solving skills especially related to quality control, tools and equipment
  • Experience working in commercial agriculture, consumer goods manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments, e.g., compliance with local, state and federal requirements including but not limited to Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, OSHA, City of Lowell, ServSafe
  • Organized and detail-oriented , and able to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and precision
  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and complete all required training , including but not limited to: Responsible Vendor Training (RVT), General and Production Department company policies and procedures Benefits
