Pay Rate:

DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for operating dryers and/or hoists to ensure product is dried to Dole standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

Move product from wash tanks to dryers to elevators Use hand and eye coordination to operate overhead conveyor/hoist system Maintain a steady flow of product out of dryer room and onto the scale mezzanine. Inspect product and equipment for possible contaminants. Extensive climbing, pushing and pulling throughout shift. Ability to quickly react to fast-paced and constant maneuvering of dryer baskets and carts between wash system, dryer deck and elevators Inspect food and equipment for possible contaminants. Any and all other duties assigned by your Supervisor Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in a food processing facility is desired, but not required. Willing to train.

SKILLS:

Must have good oral communication skills.

ADDITIONAL

: Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Required to work independently and with limited supervision. Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/ procedures.

PHYSIC AL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia is present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted up to ½ of the workday, and 10 lbs overhead as job demands. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required. Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts are in operation in the immediate area.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work weekends; some overtime is required. Required Experience

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

HS Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks.
