Cheese Monger (FT) The Market at Sickles Farm Little Silver, NJ Passionate cheese expert responsible for selecting, storing, and presenting cheeses. Shares knowledge on varieties, origins, and pairings to create an exceptional customer experience. Description A Supervisor is responsible for the following job duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to: Educate and sell cheeses and accompaniments describing tastes, flavors, textures of, and pairings

• Maintain knowledge of all available products Merchandise/arrange/display cheese, and other items in the retail space with the Cheese Supervisor
• Maintain and care for cheese in refrigerated and non-refrigerated environments; assist with reducing product waste
• Ensure strict compliance with all rules and policies, including but not limited to applicable health and safety policies and laws (i.e.- those that relate to cleanliness and sanitation)
• Lead cheese classes and events
• Participate in the daily setup, maintenance, and breakdown of the Cheese department
• Operate equipment such as wrapping machine and slicers; prepare and wrap cheese with proper food protocols

Skills, and Abilities:

Possess a deep understanding of cheese varieties, production methods, flavor profiles Understand and adhere to country-of-origin label regulations Adhere to all federal and local regulations pertaining to food preparation Works well in a fast-paced, high pressure, and high-volume environment Possess strong organizational and time management skills Possess strong customer service skills Able to effectively manage and solve problems and challenges Able to adapt, be flexible and manage varying situations and issues Possess knowledge of inventory management and point of sales systems Possess knowledge of and abide by relevant laws and company policies Possess proficient communication skills in English (to accurately convey information or ideas) in a manner that is understood Able to proficiently read in English Possess the ability to work alone or as part of a team dynamic

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Must have at least 1+ years of cheese monger retail experience Experience in Catering a plus Must be passionate about all things cheese Required education or certifications: High School Diploma or GED Culinary and/or Cheese Degree/Certification is a plus ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred Working Conditions; Job Requirements and Physical Demands / Requirements that relate directly to the essential job duties and functions.
