JOB SUMMARY

The Extraction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the extraction processes involved in producing cannabis-based products. This position requires in-depth knowledge of extraction techniques, equipment, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance in the cannabis industry. The supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality cannabis extracts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

Manage and lead a team of extraction technicians to ensure that the extraction processes are executed efficiently and effectively. Continuously improve extraction methods and techniques to maximize product yield and quality while minimizing waste and cost. Oversee the maintenance and operation of extraction equipment, ensuring that it is properly calibrated, cleaned, and functioning optimally. Ensure that all extraction activities adhere to local and state regulations, including tracking and reporting requirements. Implement quality control measures to guarantee the consistency and purity of the final product, including testing and analysis of extracts. Develop and enforce safety protocols to protect employees from potential hazards associated with extraction, including the use of proper protective gear, and handling hazardous materials. Maintain detailed records of all extraction activities, batch records, and equipment maintenance logs. Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure smooth production. Train and develop extraction technicians, ensuring that they are well-versed in extraction techniques, safety procedures, and compliance requirements. Provide regular reports on production, quality, and safety metrics to higher management. Stay updated on the latest industry trends, extraction techniques, and equipment to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

2+ years of customer service, distribution, or warehouse experience Proficient knowledge of various extraction methods, including but not limited to CO2, ethanol, hydrocarbon, and solventless techniques. Understanding of local and state regulations pertaining to cannabis extraction. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and analytical techniques used in cannabis extraction. Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Proficiency with relevant software for inventory management and documentation. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Flexibility in work hours and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and schedules. Well organized and ability to keep deadlines Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task Basic Excel, Word, and general compute knowledge Experience working in a shifting environment with a great deal of constructive feedback and input While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Physical demands – May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance)
