Seafood Job Summary:
Jubilee Marketplace in Greenpoint is looking for a reliable, hard-working Fish Monger to join our seafood team. This position involves breaking down whole fish, filleting, portioning, setting up the seafood case, and helping customers with questions and selections. Minimum culinary or knife experience required. We are not some magical or easy place to work. It’s retail — it’s physical, fast-paced, and requires attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
Break down whole fish (gutting, scaling, filleting) with speed and accuracy Maintain an attractive, fully stocked and clean seafood display case Keep seafood fresh through proper storage, icing, and rotation Assist customers with seafood recommendations, cooking tips, and special orders Maintain highest standards of cleanliness and food safety Work with the deli/prepared foods team as needed (e.g. making poke, seafood salads, etc.) Assist with inventory, receiving deliveries, and logging temperatures Lift and move heavy boxes of ice or fish (up to 50 lbs regularly)
Requirements:
Minimum knife or culinary experience required Must be comfortable handling raw fish and seafood products Ability to work quickly, cleanly, and follow safety protocols Must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the U.S. Weekends and holiday availability preferred
