05/23/2025 Rockland BOCES is seeking candidates to work in their Transportation Department. A School Bus Attendant assists pupils on and off the school bus, sees they get off at proper stops, and provides special assistance to pupils with special needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.

Special Requirements and Information:

• Must be 19 years of age.
• Qualifications imposed by school districts, including those provided by Section 1229-d of the Vehicle and Traffic Law and regulations of the Commissioner of Education, are to be satisfied before or during the probationary period.

Full Performance Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:

Ability to understand and direct children courteously and firmly but tactfully and ability to speak well and clearly. Salary and benefits are competitive and include:

• $16,120 per year starting salary (10-month)
• 25 hour work week
