- 5/14/2025This is a full-time position responsible for participating in the maintenance of assigned facilities; and assisting in the implementation of assigned leisure services programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from an accredited
- college or university with a bachelors degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or a closely related field;
- and•One (1) year full-time experience in the supervision of activities or grounds maintenance in a specialty (recreation/athletics/aquatics/therapeutics/seniors/other).
Possession of a current/valid certification in the following is preferred:oAlabama Recreation and Parks Association (ARPA) Professional Recreator CertificateoAquatic Facility Operator (AFO) CertificationoCPR/First Aid InstructoroCertified Festival and Events Associate CertificationoCertified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP)oCertified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI)oCertified Pool Operator (CPO)oCertified Sports Field Manager (CSFM)oCertified Sports Official (Such as Dixie Youth, Special Olympics, etc.)oCertified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)oCertified Youth Sports AdministratoroGroup Fitness Instructor (From an Accredited Institution/Program)oOrnamental and Turf Pest Control Supervisor or Custodial (OTPS/OTPC) CertificationoPersonal Trainer Certification (From an Accredited Institution/Program)oServSafe Manager CertificateoTrail Maintenance, Management, and/or Master CertificationoTurfgrass Management CertificationoUSA Archery – Level I Instructor CertificationoWater Safety Instructor (WSI) CertificationPossession of a current/valid American Heart association or American Red Cross CPR/AED certificate preferred.

Employees are required submit to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with the City of Dothan policy, which includes pre-employment and random tests for the duration of employment in this position.
