The goal of the Department of Parks & Recreation is to provide opportunities for recreation to all citizens regardless of family structure, income, gender, or ethnic origin. Assistant Center Supervisor Position Overview:
This is specialized work in organizing, supervising, leading and instructing recreation and sporting activities at a recreation, community center, or sports facility. Work also involves planning, scheduling and coordinating special events, league play and tournaments at the City’s athletic facilities and sports complexes, as well as setting up equipment and facilities for sports, recreation and special events. Works requires the use of tact and skill in dealing with patrons, instructing participants, and maintaining order and discipline. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency. College degree (desired) or equivalent combination of education and a minimum of two (2) years experience in activities such as organizing and conducting recreation and/or social programs in a neighborhood services position. Valid driver’s license
