The goal of the Department of Parks & Recreation is to provide opportunities for recreation to all citizens regardless of family structure, income, gender, or ethnic origin. Community Center Supervisor II Position Overview:

This is professional work in supervising and coordinating recreation, community service and child development programs, activities and events. Work involves responsibility for planning, implementing, promoting and coordinating recreation, community service and child development programs, activities and events at a large community center. Work also involves planning and scheduling of recreation facilities, child development programs and for overseeing operations and maintenance. Work involving accounting for revenue generated from facility rental fees and child development programs. Work requires frequent contact with community leaders, various civic groups, childcare management and parents. Supervision is exercised over a staff of recreation aides.

Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and five years experience in the administration of recreation programs; or any combination of education, training and experience.

Valid Driver’s License.
