Job Description
Activities Aide Brevard Alzheimers Foundation Inc 830 South Park Avenue, Titusville, FL 32780 Develop and direct daily fun and innovative recreational program activities both indoors and outdoors, as weather permits. Always ensure the safety and well-being of each participant. Work with the Activities Director to develop age- appropriate activities and entertainment. Ensures a positive attitude and team orientation is exhibited in verbal and non-verbal communication. Must possess high-energy/enthusiasm, be a self-starter, have excellent time management skills, strong initiative, and ability to possess verbal/public speaking skills. Assisting with planning and implementing programs and events which provide socialization opportunities, fitness and wellness activities, educational and recreational programs. Consistently maintain standards for activity scheduling and documentation such as activity attendance and assessments. Encourage and assist participants by offering activities that help stimulate and promote mental, intellectual, creative, and physical well-being. Assist participants with transfer and transport to other rooms or areas as needed. Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly activity area for participants to enjoy. Able to work holistically, as part of a team, with staff, program participants and their families, volunteers, and the community at-large toward successful outcomes for program participants. Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Fire Drill and Evacuation Plans, Emergency Management Plans and offer support as directed. Maintain confidentiality/HIPAA of participant and facility records/information. May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned. College degree or equivalent work experience. Two years’ experience working with the elderly preferred. Valid CNA license from the State of Florida preferred. Certificate from physician stating freedom from communicable diseases, negative TB test, and ability to perform duties in the program. Must pass Level 2 background screening. Must pass all drug testing requirements
