DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
including the following: Assists in activity planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating. Encourages residents to join activities and ensures they are included in those activities. Engage with residents during activities. Responds to residents’ needs and requests. Deliver resident mail/packages directly to cottages. Assists residents in and out of vehicles and provides assistance with parcels where required. Reports noticeable changes in functioning to the Activities Director. Follows departmental policy in regard to operation of vehicles, customer service, and safety. Ensure residents use proper safety measures including seat belts in all vehicles at all times. Follows proper reporting procedures in reporting of an accident. Immediately report any personal accident or work-related injury. Reports problems with vehicles to the Director of Maintenance in order to ensure safe, working order. Ensures efficient use of company supplies, materials, tools and resources. Responsible for assisting Director with calendars, large group activities, maintaining a record of supplies on hand and supplies needed. Work closely with Director of Food Services for the planning and ordering for group parties and social get togethers. Maintain communication with Food Services to ensure follow up and orders placed for any monthly activity. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Mathematical Ability Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and less than one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates and Licenses Valid driver’s license Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities Time management skills Oral and written communication skills
Professionalism Qualifications:
Ability to pass a level 2 background screening and drug screening. Good record of attendance at previous employment. Willingness to learn and take on new tasks. Passion to work with the aging senior population and providing engaging activities. Must be able to pass driving screening and able to drive company vehicles. Must be able to work weekends. Will work every Saturday and occasionally the whole weekend. Ability to work independently and as a team. Verbal and written communication skills.
