The ideal candidate will design, implement, and supervise age-appropriate physical activities that promote physical health, teamwork, and positive character development in a safe and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement age-appropriate physical education activities for youth in three age groups: 6-9, 10-12, and 13-18. Deliver engaging daily physical fitness sessions, including warm-ups, skill-building drills, team sports, and recreational games. Promote positive behavior, teamwork, respect, and inclusion among participants. Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all participants by maintaining control and supervision during all activities. Track attendance, participation, and skill development. Maintain cleanliness and proper use of gym, athletic equipment, and recreation spaces. Assist with the planning and execution of special events, sports tournaments, and seasonal athletic programs. Collaborate with program staff to align physical education goals with broader youth development outcomes. Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding program needs, incidents, and successes. Skills High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Kinesiology, or related field preferred. Knowledge of a variety of sports, games, and fitness activities suitable for youth. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Ability to motivate and engage youth with different skill levels. Strong interpersonal and behavior management skills. Must pass background check and any required clearances.
