OVERVIEW

Facility Contract Services is a Florida-based contract services company responsible for employing and managing personnel for municipal clients. Facility Contract Services is currently seeking dynamic and goal-driven employees for the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. SUMMARY Under the direction of the Division Director of Recreation, the position oversees operations and programs at a recreational facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and managing recreational programs, promoting special events, ensuring safety standards, and supervising facility operations personnel. Additionally, the abilityto establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and the general public is crucial for this role. Work is evaluated through meetings and reports for adherence to established policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and manages a variety of programs including cultural arts, sports, community activities, special events, fitness offerings, and therapeutic services, to achieve departmental and community goals. Oversee the effective day-to-day operation of recreational spaces, rental venues, and the programming of passive spaces. Oversee general maintience of recreational spaces ensuring ammeneties/facilities such as: courts, pools, and athletic fields, meet safety, functionality, and security standards through regular inspections. Manages the operational staff by creating staff schedules, conducting performance evaluations, identify training needs, and developing employee training programs and handling disciplinary actions when necessary. Involved in the recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating of full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff. Coordinates fundraising efforts, sponsorships, and promotional activities to enhance community involvement. Prepare marketing materials to encourage participation and collaborate with instructors, groups, and individuals to schedule and supervise facility usage. Oversee revenue collection, accounting, and compliance with insurance and contract requirements. Respond to public inquiries and complaints. Arranges public notifications for programs and events. Assists in preparing departmental budgets and recommends operational improvements while maintaining accurate records of revenues, expenses, and deposits.

REQUIREMENTS A.

Training and Experience Bachelors Degree in Recreation or Leisure Services or related field of study Three (3) years of progressive experience in recreation and/or leisure services One (1) year of supervisory level resposibilities; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess a valid State of Florida class “B” driver’s license. B. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Knowledge of public facility management general operations. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures as applied to recreational, aquatic, and athletic programs, and all that is entailed with each program. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing Experience with Tyler Munis is a plus
