Manager, Sports Training & Competition Purpose:
The Manager, Sports Administration is responsible for promoting strategic growth and sustainability by facilitating participation in Special Olympics Florida program offerings and carrying out administrative tasks across various functions that include sports, training and competition management.
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree preferred Excellent communication, organizational, written, and presentation skills Extensive computer experience in word processing, database input, and management, and Microsoft Suite required Knowledge of GMS (Special Olympics software) is preferred Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as collaboratively as a team member Ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate efficient time management skills Strong interpersonal skills Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Regular attendance required
Responsibilities:
Communicate consistently with Sr. Manager, Sports Training & Competition to coordinate and assess program needs Manage the process of data entry and maintenance of athlete medical records, volunteer, and coach paperwork Work collaboratively with the Sr. Manager, Sports Training & Competition to prepare and execute sub-area, area, and regional competitions Directly oversee delegation registration process for all area, regional, and state competitions. Tasks to include, but are not limited to: managing quota allotment, transportation scheduling, participant registration, and delegation housing Conduct preliminary divisioning for all sub-area, area, and assigned regional competitions and provide data to the Sr. Manager of Sports Training and Competition for review Print and prepare all competition-related paperwork and equipment including but not limited to: heat sheets, schedules, office supplies, and start lists Ensure coaches are properly up to date in terms of sport-specific certifications, Class A forms, and Protective Behaviors Print and prepare resources for coaches before each coach training sessions Manage the process of all athlete and volunteer registrations, Registered Training Programs, and games registration forms. Maintain sport-specific data regarding athlete participation in trainings, as well as athlete attendance at sub-area, area, regional, and state competitions Conduct audits to ensure program compliance with policies and procedures Track athlete participation per sport to support program growth Collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Sports Training and Competition to understand uniform, equipment, and supply needs and place orders Manage delegation registration at sub-area, area, and regional competitions and perform other duties as assigned at sub-area, area, and regional competitions. Following each Area and Regional Game, enter results and send post games reports Lead all delegation members in the preparation for
State Games:
Submit housing forms, disseminate schedules, memos, and information from the State Office Maintain current knowledge of Special Olympics Florida sports rules, policies, and procedure Attend area, regional, and state competitions as necessary Support cause marketing campaigns including the Publix Torch Icon Campaign, Wawa Coin Campaign, and TD Bank Availability to work nights and weekends Additional duties as needed
