Job Description
Activities Assistant- Senior Living Community Sun City Senior Living 3855 Upper Creek Drive, Sun City Center, FL 33573 We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Assistant to support the planning and execution of engaging programs and events for our senior residents. The ideal candidate will be passionate about enriching the lives of older adults and fostering a vibrant, inclusive community through recreational, social, educational, and cultural activities.
Essential Functions:
Assist with the planning, scheduling, and implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly activities and events tailored to the interests and needs of residents. Lead group and one-on-one activities such as arts and crafts, games, fitness classes, music, outings, and educational programs. Help set up and break down event spaces, ensuring materials and equipment are prepared and in good condition. Encourage resident participation and build positive relationships to foster engagement and a sense of community. Collaborate with other departments (nursing, dining, housekeeping) to ensure smooth coordination of events. Assist with seasonal decorating, newsletter content, and special holiday or themed events. Skills Experience in activities with seniors who have dementia or in a senior retirement community Ability to motivate and engage individuals with varying levels of cognitive and physical abilities. Creative, energetic, and organized, with a positive attitude and team spirit. Operate a VCR, DVD, and stereo system. High School diploma or equivalent certificate Must possess valid
