About this role Responsible for assisting with the development and execution of student-related activities and functions, including intramurals, volunteerism, and student clubs and organizations. Coordinates daily operations of the student activities center and student staff to enhance the growth and development of students by providing social, cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities for engagement on campus and within the community. Serves as the department lead in the absence of the manager. What a day of a Student Activities Coordinator looks like: Assists in coordinating on-campus events, including preparing facilities request forms, work orders, and requisitions. Coordinates and participates in event setup. Reviews various forms and materials for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established regulations, procedures, and standards. Aids students with questions related to activities, events, meetings, and fundraisers. Responds to questions and assists in resolving concerns and complaints. Collaborates with other departments and student groups to publicize events. Designs, develops, and updates student activities, social marketing platforms, mass emailing, marketing campaigns, and all departmental design and graphic needs. Provides appropriate training, guidance, and resources to club advisors, student clubs, and org leaders. Serves as liaison between various club advisors and the student activities office. Coordinates the coverage of activities and areas within student activities to ensure appropriate staffing. Supervises the game room operation and staff. Uses tracking system data to evaluate the success and effectiveness of programs and provides feedback and reports to supervisor as needed. Coordinates travel and provides transportation for students to off-campus events. Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional events outside of college locations to maintain current field knowledge. Participates in budget development for campus events and student activities department operations. Ensures club spending complies with organizational policies and guidelines. Reconciles purchases and completes vendor contracts and performance agreements. Creates, develops, and implements learning opportunities that encourage student involvement through interdepartmental collaboration. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience; OR Associate’s degree and three years of related experience
Knowledge of:
Policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the position Microsoft Office Professional or similar application Skilled in: Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management Managing and resolving conflict in a positive manner Ability to: Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Regular physical attendance required Valid Florida driver’s license Some periods throughout the year will require extended work hours including nights, weekends, and college closures
