Families Activities Aide Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Activities Aide is to assist the Activity Director in planning, organizing, and conducting activities and programs for the residents that will contribute to their fuller and richer quality of life and to help maintain or increase resident’s ability to meet their living requirements in accordance with the facility mission philosophy and as directed by the Activity Director. As the Activity Assistant, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out your assigned duties.
Activities Aide Major Duties and Critical Tasks:
Assist the Recreation Director in planning, organizing and implementing a regular program of recreational, social and individual activities that offer opportunities for mental, physical, social, spiritual and emotional growth and enjoyment with a primary focus on memory care. Able to work independently and follow the scheduled activity plan Assist in preparation of the monthly activity calendar; assist with decorating the community according to the season and/or holiday throughout the year as well as for special events Perform activities on schedule while maintaining regular attendance and punctuality Assist with enlisting the services of volunteers to aid the activities program Must be willing to work flexible hours that will include weekends, evenings and holidays.
Activities Aide Education and Experience:
High school diploma preferred Prior experience in planning and implementing group and individual activities preferred Prior experience working with senior adults and seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease preferred Must be willing to drive a 12 passenger bus (CDL not needed) Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.:
