Our Parks and Recreation is looking for a South County Regional Sports Complexes Manager, who would be responsible for the overall coordination and management of park operations for Regional Sports Complexes located in South Sarasota County, including Wellfield Park and Englewood Sports Complex, as well as satellite fields. The position will communicate with site users, leagues, and other stakeholders, building and maintaining positive relationships with these groups. today to make A change in our community! About the Position In this role, you will… Facility Operations Provide oversight of programming and maintenance at assigned park locations. Manage Regional Park Supervisors to ensure athletic fields and facilities are kept in excellent condition, maintaining structural and aesthetic integrity, and keeping in compliance with national safety standards. Create staffing plans, operations plans, long-range objectives, budgets, work standards, and procedures. Oversee the development of turf and field maintenance programs in coordination with Park Supervisors and the division’s field renovation. IPM and irrigation team.. Oversee the daily coordination of events, vendors, and customer service. In coordination with the Division Manager and North County Regional Park Manager, develops reservations and booking procedures for the park sites, balancing community use with economic impact generating tournaments and events. Lead the technical review of requests for athletic tournaments, special events, and general use of the athletic fields, courts, and indoor space within assigned park sites. Develop facility rental permits and lead negotiations with renters, ensuring that final permits are consistent with the County Code, Park Rules, Board policy, department procedures, and any associated management plans. Develop and update the business, operations, and maintenance plans for programming, vendor use, revenue, athletic stewardship, and maintenance of Regional Park sites. Manages revenue and all financial reporting, and key performance indicators, and assists with park inspections and reporting. Hires, coaches, develops, and mentors personnel. Community & Sports Tourism Development Develop and maintain constructive relationships with representatives from leagues and local sports organizations utilizing assigned park sites. Assist in the development of a sponsorship program for identified regional park sites and amenities, and provide support in the implementation and management of the program. Participate in business and park planning process, providing revenue expertise and assistance to various committees, and working groups. Prepare presentations for the BCC, Parks Advisory and Recreation Council, Tourist Development Council, and other internal/external customers. Maintain awareness of sports tourism, athletics, and business trends that support the County’s sports tourism strategy goals and provide new opportunities for community benefit through increased economic impact. Review and update web pages for assigned park sites and provide oversight of staff’s written communications. Coordinate with Visit Sarasota County and division staff on the preparation of bids for major sporting events and provide all necessary information to support the promotions of the park sites. Lead Park tours for event rights holders, National Governing Bodies, and other tournament organizers. Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Participation In collaboration with the Capital Projects department, Park Planning and Design division, and Parks Internal Operations division, participate in the CIP process for all projects within assigned park sites, from major redevelopments to minor upgrades. Provide expert feedback on designs and concepts for projects, ensuring operational needs, as well as customer experience levels, are fully satisfied within the final design. Ensure accurate information and data are shared with CIP project teams regarding park sites. Adjust operations of park sites as necessary to accommodate construction footprint and timelines. Facilitate public meetings and other information-sharing and gathering opportunities to ensure stakeholders are updated throughout the CIP process and concerns are responded to. About the

Schedule Work Hours:

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Working Hours:

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc. The position will require evening and weekend hours as needed.

About You Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent OR A bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Sports Administration, Tourism, Business or Public Administration. AND job-related field and four years of experience in sports programming, sports facility operations, or job-related field OR eight (8) years of job-related professional experience in the management of a youth/recreational sports facility, sports programming, or sports event. Two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A master’s degree in a related field. Major course work and substantial experience in parks and recreation management, sports facility management, public administration, business administration, or related field. Experience managing a sports or athletics facility with a high volume of tournaments. Certified Parks and Recreation Professional. Certified Sports Tourism Strategist from the Sports Events and Tourism Association. Subject to

About Everything Else Starting Pay Range:
