The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals in long-term care settings. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in promoting social interaction, physical activity, and cognitive stimulation among residents. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and implement recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Assist residents in participating in various activities, ensuring their safety and comfort. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation and gather feedback on activities. Document participation levels and resident feedback to help improve future programming. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure that activities align with the individual care plans of residents. Support residents with mobility challenges during activities, providing assistance as needed. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction among residents. Skills Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members. Experience or knowledge in nursing home settings or home community care is preferred. Familiarity with long-term care practices and the unique needs of seniors. Ability to assist individuals with disabilities and understand aging issues counseling. Creative thinking to develop engaging programs that cater to diverse interests. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the well-being of seniors. Experience working in assisted living or senior care environments is a plus.
