Job Purpose
This role will support dept./division by overseeing aspects of departmental activities for the Shows and Events group along with inventory for PR events, while also focusing on scouting for PR and Shows events, guiding location selection, and attending 2 and 4 wheel powersports events, furthering customer engagement with the brand at a variety of event types nationwide.
Key Accountabilities
Budgeting, Event Planning, Scouting, and reporting (Budget planning and tracking through budget period based on key focus models, volumes, and categories of product being pushed. Event planning is taking direction from senior leadership through SP process to build event plans that ensure the correct units are presented properly to the most influential press and media outlets at a location that best represents the planned utilization of the product. Scouting involves first researching potential event locations then traveling to top selections to determine feasibility of the event at that location. Reporting after the events includes creating presentations to share with management).
At-event management (Honda person in charge of hired vendors as well Honda person on-site for promoter or location representatives to communicate with).
Department Inventory Management (All activities in regards to forecasting and ordering units, ensuring PSP products arrive in time for Shows/Events and PR departments for all activities. Also responsible for future removal from inventory.).
Dealer demo event implementation (Assist with implementation of new at-dealer demo events for customers).
Technical Support when needed. Support shop activity including technical assistance.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
BA degree or equivalent PSP/Industry work experience
5+ years of PowerSports Dealer, OE, or Aftermarket supplier experience required
Event planning or marketing
2 and 4 wheel on road and off road riding experience required
Successful applicant should have familiarity of 2 and 4 wheel PSP business and marketing, including overall product knowledge of the Honda line-up and a good understanding of competitor’s products
Applicant must be comfortable in a role that requires public speaking to large groups with expertise in our product categories
Must be able to safely load and unload motorcycles, ATVs, and SXS onto trailers to ensure safe delivery to location
Must be able to operate a forklift to load and unload from trucks
Prior event coordination/attendance/execution preferred
Great verbal and written communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Working Conditions
Multi-day travel required including weekends
Many events will be outdoors in all weather conditions with long hours required
Team member will need to be able to assist in setting up displays, loading and unloading trucks, and moving units to various locations at event site
Team member will provide service to units requiring heavy lifting and working on dirty/muddy vehicles both in the service shop and on-location at events
